Virtual promenades
Virtual promenades 2019 Readymade images, Installation, 6 Prints on silk, 125 x 270 cm each.
This series of screenshots mirrors the research I did online for the project I’m always mentally photographing everything as practice.
The Virtual promenades reflects both my searching process drawing on a particular terminology used in describing landscapes and the way the mind is following its route: looking out of the window could lead to reading an article, a click on a related link opens a new window – process repeated over and again, scrutinizing the content of the images, sometimes focusing on poetic details almost lost in background; sometimes Google Images searches are followed by delves into Google Maps: deep zooming in the navigation screen, finding myself lost in an empty field etc. After a while, those many windows open up a virtual world and suggest a new form of landscape.
